Quick sketch, preparing for fly on the wall this month
Added accessories which have helped me figure out how to finish this project. Hoping to have this finished over the next couple weeks.
It's been about a month now learning Xgen. I feel like my grasp of the software has improved but my comprehension of what a woman's haircut is, has not. I've gone ahead and subscribed to a well known Patreon account that should help me continue to improve my grooming skills.
Here's some upcoming model changing I've been thinking about: I'm starting to dislike the tip of her noses shape, and might slightly trim down the size of her nostrils. Her ears still need further refinement, and I need to consider the ear rings' weight and adjust the lobes accordingly. I think I should try improving the top eyelids. The back of them doesn't sit far enough into the skull. Their shape where it meets the tear duct seems unrefined and too symmetrical. The top eyelids seem too flat, they need to hug the eyeball form more.
I also want to refine the neck, the hands and the arms soon too.
I've been focusing on hair and lighting since the last post. I don't like to use HDRI in my lighting, although I do enjoy the specular highlight on the hair in the second image. I've started blending just the specular value from the HDRI into the overall lighting. I'm going to model a few more items for the project: sunglasses to prop up on top of her head, more realistic hoop earrings, and a simple necklace or two.
Here's an ongoing project I'm working on of an Air Max 90 sneaker.
I made a quick photogrammetry scan using Display.land to see how accurate the tool could be. I then started building a rough sneaker model using the scan.
First modeling pass:
I've decided to recreate Darth Sion from the video game KOTOR 2, The Sith Lords. Here's my first WIP post. Much to do.
Here's the most recent muscular male anatomy base mesh I've been making. Before I go much further with it I need to figure out what I want to do with it, if anything. It would be a good start for a character project.
My next project will be a male character. Not sure if this will end up just being practice, or part of the final project. I'm thinking now of making a baseball player.
I'll probably work on this project for a couple more nights, but I'm close to calling it finished.
Planning to add an additional rim light to the top section of the right cello to help differentiate the neck + scroll from the curtain. I also need to rework the curtain model, it keeps coming back out of Marvelous Designer triangulated which is what's creating odd ridges when subdivided. Or I guess I could just not subdivide the curtain...
